Sounds like quite a bit happening over there. Getting hit on by girls is always fun.... Isn't it ?

I've been in Germany for the last few days, Münster - almost everyday for the last 5 we've had rehearsals/concert for 3 of those (Dortmund). Quite a full schedule , but without fails at least a few beers every night. Today I moved into a hotel at Düsseldorf, going to a concert at the Kunstraum, which is part of an artist resident collective. Well, they host the experimental concerts with my mentor's collective stages, what more can i say !

Ok more later. Hoepfully I'll be able to find some photos to post soon. I'm taking some actual photos instead.

I just found out that I will not be teaching in Morgantown this fall. I guess my work was too Californian/post-modern/formal/playful/crazy for the Mountaineers. Until further notice I will continue to reside in Saint Louis, MO. Please come visit.

This weekend I'm going on an psuedo-camping adventure.

Here is what I know about the trip.
Elaine, Bianca, and I will be driving to someone's farm in the country. We leave Friday afternoon and return Sunday morning. The owner of the farm is leaving the country (or something like that) and there is going to be a big party. There will be bluegrass bands playing music all night/day. There will be bonfires/campfires and drinking all night. There will probably also be hallucinatory drugs.
Jen said that Elaine said that she was going to try to find some pot for the weekend. I thought she said, "She was going to try to find some pie for the weekend." I like pie better. I would rather spend my weekend eating pie.

Listening to live music in the country and hanging out with Bianca should be fun. Being hit-on all weekend by Elaine will not be fun; In fact, it's got me freaked out a little bit. When I get hit on by girls that I like, I don't notice it. When I get hit on by girls that I don't won't to be hit on by, it's obvious and painful.

I'm not sure how I got into this situation, but I just want to make it through the trip so that I can see the Cards play the Cubs on Sunday afternoon.

Birthday leftovers

Things still in my apartment left over from my birthday a month ago.
1 pink balloon (still half full of air)
1 orange balloon (barely full of air)
Half a bottle of gin
Half of an onion
1 bucket in the fridge, 1/4 full of purple stuff that used to be cole slaw

What's going on with this picture ?

When I was downstairs this afternoon, I noticed that my PS 2 was gone. "Oh well, one of my roomates , probably Beau, decided to move it and use it" No big deal. I asked my two roomates that were around. "No i don't know where it is" I'm sure I started to confuse myself, where did I last not put it.... As I was standing by teh door, I said to Zach, "Jeeze, the wind probably blow in this window by the door" (There's usually at least a couple of windows broken in our house, I wasn't quite surprised.) Zach came outside to look at the window and it was then that he noticed the concrete block which usually props the door open had been put through that window. "Oh shit we've been broken into..."

At the time, nothing else other than my PS2 was the casualty. When I went upstaris to Sasha's room to look for it I noticed an open drawer in his desk. (Sasha is away in Libya playing iwth a reggae band...) Yup, money had been stolen - but not his weed stash in the drawer next to it. Fuck.

I went to see my friend Jessica's band play this evening. I went with Andrea, Sasha's friend. I found out she's singel, so in a way that I didn't anticipate it sort of turned into a date.....

It was fun, and after coming home. I decided I would play a little of my Indians vs Yankees game (PS Portable). Can't find it. Gone. So hmmm, digital appliances...... Check for my digital camera. Gone. Hmmm i look down my bookshelf where the otehr broken digital camera is. Gone. Oh, yeah and my headphones are gone too.

What a day.

Final Standings

By the way, the final March Madness rankings are as follows:
1. Bruce's Mom
2. Bruce
3. McClain
4. Chang

No one could out-guess Mom. If you happen to see her, I'm sure she'll take advantage of her bragging rights.

I realized today that we may have seen the best of Eric Gagne two years ago. It's a little sad that he's having surgery again - but I'm glad I was around for parts of the 84 saves streak.

Man, I'm glad you're OK. An accident with airbag depolymen !! - phew, that's something to write home about, and definitely worse than a fuel pump dickfuck in Butte, Montana.

Just got home from the Dodger game. Good times. They honoured a former Dodger player / USC coach. You get to hear Nancy Bea Hefley play the USC fightsong if you click here. ok ok. Maybe you don't want to get too adventurous - so here's one for the memories, Nancy playing eveyone's 7th inning favourite.

By the way, you can't just jump on the Cards bandwagon. It's like, too full. And too convenient. I imagine similar to everyone having the hots for the blonde cheerleader captain back in high school ? ("give that ass a rest....")

So to finish off, here are some photos of Dodger stadium dressed in the original pastel colours. Now what colour codes are they in the designer catalog ehh ?!

this is the world being small....

My roomate Sasha met a band from Auckland when he was on tour up the West Coast. Ruby Sun is their name and here's a funny and very sad article recently written about their adventures
on the road.

It turns out that I played in youth orchestra with one of the vocalists way back in the days...... It's clear from this article on her that her life is much more interesting than mine.

California Country

My friend Jessica plays in a folk band, VOCO, who are sharing a show this friday with I See Hawks in LA, who have a song called Byrd from West Virginia.

ahhh, sweet West Virginia !

VOCO serves up some a cappella delights as well as
some honkin' body percussion and fine instrumentals.
It's also a chance to see historic downtown LA -
Cole's is one of LA's oldest bars - steeped in
history!

Cole's Bar 118 E. 6th Street (at Main,
take 6th St. exit off 110 FWY,
East 1 mile,

just past Main)
Show starts 9pm!

Go Cards!

Indians (0-1)
Dodgers (0-1)
Cardinals (1-0)
I'm jumping on the bandwagon and rooting for a winner. Go Cards!

Road trip

Moselle, Mississippi: worst bathroom in America

Butte, Montana: a boring place to spend the day while Johnny's car gets a new fuel pump. Most of the kids in WalMart look like they are trapped in Hell. Also, everyone kept referring to his car as a "Ford Exploder."

And now a new entry on the list of places to avoid on road trips: Dunkirk, OH.
Because of vague internet directions, we weren't even supposed to be there. Here are the series of events as we headed from Columbus to Ada. We stopped at an intersection, drove through the intersection, got hit by a car coming down the road that we were crossing. I got some bruises on my arm and side from my airbag. Everyone else is ok, except the cars. After the accident we made it to Ada, got the posters, and drove 7 hours to St. Louis in a car with doors that wouldn't close properly. We covered the door with tape and stuffed it with a t-shirt to dampen the noise. We stopped and got ice cream in Indiana. That made everything better.

Don't mention it to Jen. She's a little upset.
